#MarieCurieStories – an innovative digital storytelling project we’ve produced for national UK cancer charity Marie Curie Cancer Care -goes live on Wednesday 15th May.
We’ve been working with Marie Curie for a few months writing their social media strategy and managing the roll-out of their regional Facebook pages.
This storytelling project is a key part of the regional social media strategy designed to increase engagement on both a local and national level.
#MarieCurieStories will allow the audience to walk in the shoes of nurses, carers and patients, bringing them closer to the vital work that Marie Curie does for those with life-limiting illnesses.
We have teamed up with six prominent bloggers from around the UK who have each been behind the scenes at a Marie Curie hospice.
We chose the bloggers carefully and matched them with an activity that would appeal to both them and their audiences.
Follow throughout the day to see how Marie Curie Nurse Cathy ensured her patient Edith got to the church for her daughter’s wedding. You’ll also meet China, the Pets as Therapy dog, and Carolyn K, the make-up artist who visits the Hampstead Hospice to do mini-make-overs for the patients.
#MarieCurieStories is a multichannel project and will unfold across blogs, social media and traditional media throughout the day on Wednesday, May 15th.
Marie Curie is an organisation that is rich with compelling stories. Great content combined with social storytelling and a solid outreach strategy on a national and local level are the backbone of this project.
And as with all our projects social media never sits in isolation. The social media output is nested alongside traditional media, Facebook adverts and a supporter email.
