Big Kitten Con launches in cinemas around the UK

Big Kitten Con

Our mini-doc is screened in cinemas across the UK

The mini-documentary commissioned by Cats Protection as part of their Christmas campaign is set to screen across UK cinemas.

Running before the main film the audience will be invited to understand the impact of buying an underage kitten.

Every great story starts with a moment of connection. For us, it was Sam.

Recognising those moments of interview magic

Sam wasn’t just another interview subject—she was the heart of a story waiting to be told. She had no script, no rehearsed lines, just a raw, deeply personal experience that demanded attention. When she sat down in front of our cameras, we knew instantly that we had something powerful. Her voice, her emotion, the way she recounted the day she brought home Frankie, a tiny, vulnerable kitten she found on Facebook—it pulled us all in.

This is the magic of storytelling. We’ve spent years refining our ability to spot these moments, to recognise when a story has the power to not just inform, but to move. And with Sam, we had exactly that.

Cats Protection commissioned us to create a mini-documentary as part of their Christmas campaign. But the challenge wasn’t just to educate people on the dangers of buying underage kittens—it was to make them feel it. Information alone doesn’t change behaviour; emotion does. That’s why casting the right stories is so important.

Helping an audience to ‘feel’ the story

Sam spoke of the excitement, the joy, and then the heartbreak. Frankie wasn’t ready to be separated from his mother. He was weak, sick, and in need of care that Sam wasn’t prepared for. The reality of what she had unknowingly walked into was devastating.

And that’s why this works. It’s not a lecture—it’s a human experience. When the audience sits in a darkened theatre and hears Sam’s voice, they won’t just listen; they’ll feel. They’ll remember. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll think twice before clicking ‘buy’ on a kitten that should still be with its mother.

That’s the power of a story well told.
