A few years ago we, along with Dominic Nutt and Alexander Masters crowdfunded £2million to fund trials of a neglected cancer treatment.
It was a novel and new way to raise money to fund medical trials. The Financial Times called it, the ‘best medical crowd-funder in web history.’
Every year many promising, potentially life-saving treatments fail because scientists run out of cash. A new way of funding research and clinical trials is desperately needed.
In the years since Dom and Alexander have been pushing this new way of funding potential treatments – working with Universities, writing academic papers, and now they’ve secured a workshop at the prestigious Brocher Foundation in Geneva to discuss the ethics with a prestigious group of leading academics from around the world.
We’re looking forward to taking part in Geneva this coming November.
