This baby girl is 20mins old. She is a twin and needed resuscitation. Her twin brother is being treated for sepsis. Dr Aisling Walsh is a paediatrician working in Gulu Regional Referral Hospital, Uganda. The hospital serves 1.5 million people across 7 districts. The hospital sees on average 89 births a week and 101 newborns returning for urgent medical care. Dr Walsh is part of a programme to build up capacity in healthcare workers based in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, where demand has sky rocketed and staff don't have have the skills to cope with the influx of unwell babies.

After one month on the ward Janet is able to take her son home for Christmas.
